In 2007, KLASCO handled a record-breaking quantity of cargoes, i.e. nearly 9.6 mln. tons. It is by 14 per cent more than in 2006, when the Company‘s cargo turnover reached 8.4 mln. tons. The share of KLASCO in the market of port services has increased to 35 per cent.
The success can be accounted for by the increased handling of Lithuanian and Belorussian fertilizers, the increased flow of wheeled transport and passengers at the International ferry Terminal, and the wider range of general cargoes.
In 2007, KLASCO handled 3.7 mln. tons of dry and liquid fertilizers, i.e. by 42 per cent more than the year before last, when the Company handled 2.6 mln. tons of fertilizers. The flow of wheeled transport at the International Ferry Terminal has increased by 10 per cent, i.e. from 178 thousand to 197 thousand units, and the number of passengers has increased by 11 per cent, i.e. from 188 thousand to 211 thousand. The turnover of railway wagons carried along the ferry line to/from Sassnitz (Germany) has increased by 11 per cent and amounted to 7,374 units.

The Company‘s investments into the improvement of production processes amounted to more than 17.5 mln. Lt. The construction of a paper warehouse was commenced at the International Ferry Terminal (the first section of the warehouse should be opened in the summer of 2008); the Company has purchased new vargo-handling equipment and updated its information technologies.
