The principal aim of the quality and environment management system is: through application of advanced cargo-handling technologies and modern equipment, to reduce adverse impact on the environment, to ensure business safety, to attract more customers and cargoes, to render high-quality services, and to gain more profit.

Since 2004, when the dry fertilizer terminal was built, fertilizers are loaded onto a vessel by using closed conveyors equipped with air filters, which filter solid particles and return them into the cargo. At the liquid fertilizer terminal, measures aimed at preventing potential discharge of fertilizer into the environment have been applied.
Within the framework of implementation of the requirements set forth in legal acts, the record-taking and control of materials that destroy the ozone layer is carried out. Monitoring of ground water, rain drainage discharged into the Curonian Lagoon, air pollution and noise within the sanitary zone is carried out, too.

Every year, the enterprise draws up an environmental protection management programme, which includes ways of saving natural resources, environmental pollution control and concrete measures.

Klaipėda Public Health Center has determined that since 2005, when the enterprise installed a noise-damping screen along Švyturio street, the noise level in the residential are has reduced.

As waste sorting is controlled, the amount of waste taken out to dump sites is reduced every year.
