LIQUID FERTILIZER AND CHEMICAL PRODUCTS TERMINAL

-
The liquid fertilizer terminal serves the needs of Lithuanian and Byelorussian fertilizer producers to export their products to the countries of intensive farming. In 2005 it acquired a ‘sister terminal' in Lübeck (Germany) and in Ghent (Belgium).

The terminal's reliable system of tanks and export lines with pipelines laid in the direction of three quays provides possibility for flexible and smooth stevedoring operations. The terminal facilities include an ethylene glycol import line installed for the needs of the local plastic plant. The terminal was put into operation in 2000.
Number of the berths 4 Length of the berths 225 m, 264 m, 156 m, 250 m Depth at the berths 14 m Number of shore tanks (for liquid fertilizer) 5 Number of shore tanks (for chemical product) 1 Total storage capacity (for liquid fertilizer) 87.000 mt Total storage capacity (for chemical product) 5.000 mt Terminal capacity 2.600.000 mt/year Loading into the vessel capacity up to 3.000 mt/hour Discharging from the rail tanks capacity 1.000 mt/hour - The terminal is equipped with a fertilizer cooling and recirculation system, which makes it possible to load even cargo crystallized due to frost.
- The automation system controls the loading process and the quantity of cargo in the storage tanks.
The ethylene glycol terminal
The ethylene glycol terminal was built and put into operation in 2005
- The annual capacity of the terminal is 80,000 t
- Ethylene glycol is transported into storage tanks by steel pipelines
- A separate railway branch makes it possible to load up to 5 railway tanks simultaneously. The loading performance is 150 m3/h
- Ethylene glycol can also be loaded into road-tankers (capacity 50 m³/h)
